As I talked about in the First post, we have a very interesting situation that had consumed out country this year. It is election 2008 and we have a 70+ year old, a women, and a Black man. One of the most interesting things about this race is how it has been manipulated by the media.
The great “spin machine” that is our national media has played a huge role in this years election’s. The media always plays a bg part, but this year they have been in a bigger role than ever before. Everyone has hread the old phrase “He who controls history”…. So, this brings us to where we are today.
Now, just so I’m clear I want you to understand that I do not think that the media cares who is president and who is not. It makes little difference to them, but what does matter is the story. There is no Story if John Edwards, Mike Huckebee, Ron Paul, or Mitt Romney is running in the November election. That would be the “norm” for elections. The same ole’ crusty politicians running again.
The big money making story is if there is the potential for the worlds First Women, First Black man, or the oldest man running. That must be a media dream to have this situation, and they got it. Now, let’s take a look at each candidate briefly.
John McCain:
First of all, John McCain is a national Hero, he is a retired military veteran, Former POW, and fought to defend our country. Excerpt from his site:
During his 23rd bombing mission on October 26, 1967, a missile struck John’s plane and forced him to eject, knocking him unconscious and breaking both his arms and his leg. John was then taken as a prisoner of war into the now infamous “Hanoi Hilton,” where he was denied necessary medical treatment and often beaten by the North Vietnamese.
John spent much of his time as a prisoner of war in solitary confinement, aided by his faith and the friendships of his fellow POWs. When he was finally released and able to return home years later, John continued his service by regaining his naval flight status.
So, there is no doubt this man has character and has been through more than 99% of us will ever have to go through. As far as his politics, I have no clue. everyday he seems to pull a new issue out of the sky depending on who he is talking to. He has been in Washington far too long and knows the game and how to win.. Just yesterday, he actually spoke the words “global warming” while giving a speech in Oregon.. That is a ground breaking day for the GOP..
Barrack Obama
What can I say about Barrack Obama? I find it interesting that there isn’t an “about” page in his website. Probably because all he is about is change! I’m still not sure what kind of change, but change always sounds good after 8 years if anything. Other than going to a Muslim school as a young boy. this is all I can find:
Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. (born August 4, 1961) is the junior United States Senator from Illinois and a candidate for the Democratic Party’s nomination in the 2008 U.S. presidential election. He married in 1992 and has two daughters. He is a member of the Democratic minority in the 109th Congress, he cosponsored legislation to control conventional weapons and to promote greater public accountability in the use of federal funds. He also made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In the current 110th Congress, he has sponsored legislation regarding lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, nuclear terrorism, and care for returned U.S. military personnel. Since announcing his presidential campaign in February 2007, Obama
Overall, I really just cannot see voting for this man. The whole Reverend Wright thing hits me hard, I’ve seen racism and it doesn’t matter if you are black, white or yellow. Check this link to see the good Reverend Wright, then ask yourself if you want his buddies running our county..
