You Wonder Why The Economy Sucks (Lazy People)

So, I’m going to keep this rant short. For the last 6 months or so, I’ve been desperately trying to find programmers to work on several projects. Sounds simple enough right? I have the money, I have the project specs all ready to go. How hard can it be??

Turns out, it’s super freaking hard to find capable people. I tried Elance, I tried forums, I spread the word on facebook, twiter, you name it. I tried everything I could think of. Yea, I got some responses back. On Elance I got quotes from every Indian company listed, quotes ranged from $1000, $2000, and one company quoted me $6.95 per hour (yes seriously) – All of these quotes without them every seeing the actual scope of the projects. They were just throwing prices out there.

The most frustrating thing of all, is two people I know, who are programmers, very good programmers, both wanted to check it out and give me a quote. After sending them everything I could think of, speaking to them about the project, me promising to pay up front even. Neither of these guys every got back with me, I hit them up, they gave excuses. So nothing.

Same Sob Story – Same tired Excuses

One of them is my long time friend, who has worked on a lot of projects with me and made a lot of money with me. He even has hit me up and given me a sob story of how broke he is, how he’s blown through his saving, how he needs to make money. But when it comes time to actually WORK, then he disappears and makes excuses. And THAT is what’s wrong with our country right now. Hell, it’s what’s wrong with most of the world.

Sick of lazy people, Aren’t you?

If you know me, then you know I have failed plenty. I’ve been down, I’ve been broke, I’ve been depressed. Not once did I ever expect someone, or the government to rescue me. I knew if I wanted a better life, I’d have to get off my ass and make it happen! This “poor me” bullshit attitude has to stop. I’m to the point where if I’m talking to someone and they are whining about w/e their problems are, I’ll walk the Fu%k away. I’m not listening to that trash.

I’ve tried helping people, tired of listening to people whiny crap. So do everyone around you a favor, if they start whining about rich people or talking about how they have been screwed.

Do them a favor, here’s what you do:

1. Raise your right hand
2. Make a fist with your hand
3. Rock backwards and throw your hand at their face!! (Yes, punch them right in the f’ing face!)

One day, they will thank you!
