Things I need to do better
The past few weeks have been stressful. Although I’m having the best month since I began running affiliate sites, there are several things I need to do better in life and in business. My buddy Jeremy Enke and Super Affiliate Graham R. are always posting and blogging about keeping your priorities responsibilities and goals focused. So, this is my chance to make some adjustments and fix some shortcomings.
The first few things that come to mind is my family. I have a great wife and six (yes for real, I have six kids) and they are all great! I am the luckiest guy in the world and a good strong family is the best thing in life! Here is a list of “Family” Items I’m going to be working on.
Value the Family
I’ve been putting in a lot of hours at the office and on the websites when I get home. I’m not really sure if I would ever be a full time affiliate, but as it is I’m really working two full time careers. I’m not really sure how my wife and kids put up with me sometimes. I work, sleep, eat, work, ask about school, ask about Ranna’s day, have a short dinner with everyone, and then go back to work, sleep, and repeat.
I have decided that I am putting myself on a reasonable work schedule and to spend some quality time with my family. They are the most important part of my life, and they deserve the best husband and father, but they will have to settle on me….
Value Myself
Sounds like a goofy header, but one of the worst parts of my life is how I am treating my body. I sit in a chairs for long hours, both at my regular job and working in the internet business. I eat junk like pop tarts for breakfast, fast food at lunch, and I’m usually bringing dinner home for the kids and I. I’m just so tired and don’t like cooking every night. (Wife works nights)
I’ve decided to start treating my body better. I’ve put on a lot of weight and I’m always tired. Your diet is very important and I’m 30 years old and out of shape. I owe it to myself and more importantly I owe it to my family. I’m going to make sure I start cooking better meals for my family and quit taking the easy way out. I’ll also be working out on a regular schedule. They deserve the best!
Focus On The Kids
My kids are my life and I don’t think I’m being the best parent I can be. I’m a young parent and had a rough childhood which was mostly my own fault. My oldest step child just turned 15. I met my wife a little over 10 years ago. We’ve been married since our oldest was 5 years old, and I have a son a few month younger. It’s true what they say, “they grow up fast”. I could make a huge posts about all my kids, they are all the best kids on the world. they are so cool and don’t hate me yet. We have the usual prarent/child issues, but I really feel like we are close with all of them.
My kids ages go from 10 to 15 years old and the best kids you could have. There is nothing like being a parent and everyday them make me laugh and make me feel proud. I was never as cool as any of these kids at their ages.
I have been very short and cranky with them the last few several weeks. They have been cheer leading, playing football, and studying which has made them tired all the time. I guess we have all been running ourselves down. I will be taking extra time to play and hang out with them. Tomorrow is Sunday Football and we will BBQ and spend some time outside together.
Ok, this post could actually never end because there are so many parts of my life where I could do better. Most of all I need to keep my priorities in line. If I fail to do that, I will fail in everything. My family is my main concern, life is short, and everyday is a good day!

Great post Randy. It’s true that affiliates run themselves into the ground as a means of getting ahead. I recently had to re-evaluate my health as well as I went from playing sport 7 days a week a few short years ago to spending all day on the computer. It can creep up on you if you don’t get a handle on it!
Wise words my friend. Good luck with making the adjustments.
