God’s Pit Crew

God’s Pit CrewAs most of you know, our small town of Mtn. View Arkansas was hit with a devastating F4 Tornado that went right through our town and many others. Not only did the storm destroy the hospital and emergency services building, the storm completely cut our town off from the rest of the world. No phones, no cell phone, and no electricity. No one can plan ahead and be completely prepared for a natural disaster like this.

24 hours after the storm we all knew we (Grocery Stores, Schools, Hospital, homes, etc) would be without power and most communications for at least a week. Being without power is an unfamiliar situation if it last for more than 24 hours. Everyone in our town would have to find a way to heat their homes and deal with all their refrigerated food being ruined.

Now, we all know that our government is slow to respond to the needs of citizens in disasters. Lucky for us a great group of people called “God’s Pit Crew” came to our aide days before our government even bothered to come here. Of course, we did have the token “fly over” by our Governor. We all know that does little to help people who are cold, hungry, and homeless.

God’s pit crew is a non-profit organization that responds to natural disasters all around the country. They bring those in need food, water, blankets, clothes, and everything else people need during a crisis. Until this tornado hit I had never heard of them. These people worked day and night passing out goods to families. It’s so rare now days to find a group or organization that is as helpful and caring as this one.

You can visit their site at : God’s Pit Crew and I want to encourage everyone to donate to this wonderful organization. Take a minute and read through this site and you will see they have responded to every natural disaster for the last several years.

If you are looking for a charity that actually makes a difference, please donate to God’s Pit Crew here: Donatation
